14 May: Caroline Gaskin MCPH; Changing Times, Changing Polycrests
In this lecture Caroline will be exploring how our use of the polycrest remedies that we know and love is changing. Patients arrive on increasingly complex drug prescriptions and we are all exposed to more toxins, eat denatured and de-mineralised foods and consume synthetic hormones & elements that weren’t present in our diets 50 years ago. We need to adjust our perspective about what we are made of and what are our maintaining causes for ill health. The emphasis on what polycrests we needto use is changing as result. Bring your repertories!
11 June: Clare Walters, Pain Management for Practitioners
The Pain Release Technique is a simple mindfulness meditation. It brings profound and immediate results in clients suffering chronic physical pain such as fibromyalgia, arthritis and wounds as well as emotional pain such as acute anxiety, grief, anger and depression. It takes only a few minutes and can be used during the consultation to:
- bring immediate relief from mental anguish or physical pain
- ground the client so that the pain can be viewed more objectively
- open the client to a deeper awareness and understanding of their pain
It can be taught to the client who can then use it when they need it. Feedback is very positive with most clients enjoying better sleep, less pain and a more positive mood and less reliance on pain killers, sleeping pills and other medication.
By the end of the workshop you will be:
- confident in using the technique
- aware of the depth of the process
- clear about the benefits of using the technique in your own practice

10 September: Lynne Russell; Menopause - A Heroine's Journey
Lynne practises in East and West Sussex and having had a special interest in the menopause for a number of years, she now finds herself working with men and women during periods of transition in their lives whether as part of their own process, a life stage such as menopause, or at a point of crisis. She can be contacted via her website ChantryHealth.com
“For me, one of the joys of specialising is the chance to learn about a particular area even more intensively, gathering information, developing ideas and seeing patterns emerge. Menopause is a time of great change for women, both physically and emotionally and as homeopaths I believe that we are in a wonderful position to offer support through this value period of transition.
During the evening we can move through the different areas that you would like to focus upon – these can include:
- An overview of the hormonal shifts and their significance
- Some useful and concise pieces of information and issues around HRT
- Homeopathy – constitutional, therapeutic and organ support remedies
- Herbs – tinctures and combinations to help with symptoms
- The use of diet and supplements – simple advice to pass on to patients
- Strategies and support for women who can’t or don’t want to take HRT, those stopping HRT and those that have stopped and are experiencing symptoms
- Case management – timescales, levels of support, using the space we provide, and more
- The nature of the heroine’s journey as she moves through her own unique transitional process and beyond…
If you visit the “HRT?” page on my website, you can download the two part article I wrote for “Homeopathy in Practice”. This will give you an overview of the framework and some useful ideas around the transitional element of how I work. If you find it to be useful, you are very welcome to print it off and use it as an initial handout. When we meet we can then explore the areas you feel you would like to build upon. I am looking forward to seeing you all there.”
